Saturday when Steve and I were in Center City for his birthday weekend outings, I passed this gentleman on the street who was dressed like I had never seen a man dressed before. I turned to him and asked if I could take his photo. He was very agreeable and after I took a few shots of him he said someone else had asked to take his picture, but just wanted to see his shoes....I had not noticed...They became the photo of the day. Since I did take other photos of him and do like to take 'man on the street' shots, I decided to start a gallery of those. If you are interested in his whole outfit go here to see him. All are straight out of the camera. I didn't have any time to tweak them this weekend.
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 508 5/14/09 A shot on the street...That was the heaviest bike chain I ever saw!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 495 4/27/09 Straight out of the camera as we drove straight out of NYC.. ( Steve was driving, btw!)

We were in for the afternoon Saturday (yesterday's post was from the afternoon, too, but I posted it late last night and I see there are no comments at all since I posted so late). Ths was the view a we drove west toward home in Philly.
Have a good week everyone...Amazing it was 91 degrees here yesterday and will be about the same here until Thursday until the high drops back to 63..a more normal temp for this time of year.
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 419 2/18/09 Another after work shot of Woody!

Wow, thank you all so much for you kind comments on yesterdays shot of the little boy and the gallery of photos I posted of him and his sister. I was really overwhelmed by the postivite response. I apologize that I don't have time right now to respond to each of you. What I learned is that I 'can' do this, but need to gather my courage to do it. I also need to learn how to shoot raw, which I have never done. Thanks to those of you who offered for me to be in touch and 'pick your brains'...I just might do that! Thank you again and sorry that I have not been able to comment much...I've been spreading myself a little too thin lately!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 397 1/26/09 Today is the 30th anniversary of the day we met!

We met in line for a foreign film ( "That Obscure Object of Desire" by Luis Bunel) at the International House at University of Pennsylvania where I was living. We chatted and Steve took my number, but didn't stay for the movie. I did. He called me the next day to go out that night..I did...10 months later we said, "I do"!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 198 7/2/08 Dancing cones! Ready and waiting to hold an icy treat!

After our walk yesterday, Steve and I went for water ice at our local "Rita's". I don't know how far away from the Philly area the Rita's reputation has spread, but for us it is a summer ritual..and last night was double stamp Tuesday so we could get twice the stamps and get a free treat the next time we come! Mmmm black cherry water ice..tasty!
This was shot with my 100mm 2.8 while was standing at the window while the young vendor fixed up our ices for us. No flash, of course.
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 452 3/1/09 Another shot on the PennCampus. This was with my 50mm 1.4, so cropped down quite a lot. You guys get such great squirrel shots, I had to try one, too!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 191 - 6/24/08 Keeping an eye on me!!!

This is another shot from our walk along the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ on Sunday. Not much time to shoot yesterday.
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 163 - 5/15/08 To market, to market....

Steve and I picked up a few things at a local Farmer's Market run by Amish people. Steve had suggested that this might be an interesting place to get my pic of the day. This is one of my 'hip shots'. I did a little of the johnloguk watercolour treatment to it. I may post a second photo later since I was MIA in posting yesterday. Just didn't find anything old or new that I felt like posting though I did look at some of your shots yesterday.

Regarding my 'clean desk' ...That is a dental office work space and since we are mostly paperless it is easy to keep it neat. My desk at home is a whole different situation!

Thanks all for your continued support and encouragement..it is just wonderful to be part of this community.
