Steve treated me to a very lovely dinner out at an Italian restaurant we had never been to before. The food was really good ( Mmmm mussels Fra Diavlo) and the staff very friendly...nice neighborhood sort of place! Here's to the next 29! Cheers!!!!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 225 -8/12/08 A window display in Asheville, N.Carolina. I am still processing the 1000+ shots I took at my Dental Hygiene conference in Chicago and the many photos of our trip to N.Carolina and East Tennessee. Still haven't caught up on Florida, either. Tomorrow will be a big photography day and then next week...off on a big trip again...I will have a fresh shot in the morning, but this will have to do for tonight! Loved this in the window and it came out just how I was hoping it would, except for some of the reflection at the top that I wish was not there.
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 602 10.12.09 Happy Columbus Day everyone! This wonderful young couple were the models for the NYC SMUG held yesterday in New York. I was able to go since it was a Sunday and it was well worth the train trip.They gave some tips on radio triggers for off camera lighting and this couple modeled for us as if it was wedding pics. It was really fun, but the best part was all the wonderful SmugMuggers I met including a fabulous photographer of musicians and people on the street I have interacted with online who I had not met in person before. I will post a pic of him tomorrow! It was really a terrific way to spend a beautiful fall day. I'm looking forward to a SMUG in Philly one of these days, too!

Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 214 7/23/08 Another walk in the park and another photograph, but not a pup! This was with my 50mm 1.4 hand held. I did take some photos of a dog, but this was my choice for posting this morning. Getting in some variety, I guess. Have a great day and thank you ALL for your wonderful kind words on the Akita, Kita, yesterday!!!! Really gave me boost!!!

Thanks Irish for saying this was your favorite! ***Also....I just realized I have now been posting on the dailies for ONE YEAR!!!! WOW, I never thought I would really last that long. AS you can see by the number of posts I have missed some days and certainly don't plan to quit, but my first post was 11/15/07. I am very proud to continue as part of this wonderful community. Thanks to all of you for your inspiration, support and friendship. It really has become a part of my life!!!!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 174 - 5/27/08 - TED Tonight Steve invited me to go for a walk after dinner...I have been terribly lazy about any exercise lately so appreciated the extra kick to get out, though tired after a work day. The best incentive besides our time together was that maybe I would find my picture of the day. Well, here it is! This is Ted...he is a Golden Retriever mix..and very, very sweet. It was late and the light was low so the pictures tended to be rather grainy and soft, but I like this one with the sepia treatment. What do you think? I loved Ceejanerun's photo yesterday of that handsome dog and I guess it inspired me to catch this shot of this great pup!!! The original is here: TED
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 517 5/23/09 "Joe" - Hangin' out by the Delaware River in the Port Richmond area of Philadelphia. Steve and I spent the afternoon in Philly..a little camera store shopping for me ( Calumet) then walking around Rittenhouse Square and a wonderful lunch sitting outside in the sun, a trip to Trader Joe's, then a drive in some neighborhoods along the Delaware to explore possible interesting photo ops. We saw some people fishing along the Delaware and I took a short walk there while Steve listened to the Phillies in the car. I met this lovely man and chatted to him for a bit. He comes and sits by the river everyday, he said. He enjoys being out, watching people, relaxing and fishing...if he actually catches a fish, it is a bonus he said. He asked me if I was going to fish, I said no, I'd like to just catch some pictures. When I asked him if I could take his picture, he was very agreeable and you can see, I was right..I did catch a nice photo today! Thanks 'Joe"..it was so nice to meet you!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 457 3/26/09 KAI....Yesterday was his 3rd birthday. By chance I came home just as he and his 'mom' were going out for a walk so I was able to take a few shots....Actually I took quite a few, but he was so active and he does like to jump ( at 130 pounds that can be scary) so a lot of the shots were not good. Anyway, this was my birthday gift to Kai and his mom as he adoringly looked up at her. HERE is the gallery of other Kai shots from last year.
