We had such a great time. I think that posing for this photo and the patience everyone showed while I ran back and forth setting up the camera and getting it right was their sort of 'penitance' for times they may have needed patience from some of their own photo models.

We all sort of went our own way from almost 2 1/2 hours. For those who had never been there before there was some serious shooting of the sights. For Leslie (ljn335) and me there was time to chat and get to know eachother better and take a few shots as we wandered. We all met and went out to dinner and got to know eachother better. It was truly another great SmugMug Meetup experience for me that I'll treasure! Really a great group! Thanks, you guys for all making the effort to come into Philly and get together. John, I hope after a nightflight from California, hours wandering the prison, and then the long ride home to Lancaster you are getting some rest today. Thanks for making the effort to join us!!!

I wanted to get this shot uploaded, but will also post my gallery of all my shots here. I did not shoot much at all. I had been there before and quite frankly, I am overwhelmed with all the photos I have to process right now. I decided to post good and bad shots just to keep the documentation of what the day was like for me. It will show you that I have a lot to learn. Thank you Alex for your help in understanding that highlighting alert blinkie function...very cool!!!

This is my new gallery showing off the wonderful SmugMuggers I have met. I sure hope I can add more and more photos to it, too!

Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 264 10/17/08 Back to PlayWicki Park and some new pup portraits.

This is Sabrina and she was sooooo sweet. She sat very nicely for a bunch of shots before she continued on her walk!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 375 1/4/09 Proof!!! Shelly and I really did meet in NYC last week..it all seems so long ago now. Bless her heart, I think she didn't want to post whatever shot she did get of the two of us cause my hair was unbelieveably scary that day!!! Walking around in the foggy weather for a few hours until we met was not good for the 'do! Anyway, a little pp in Picasa and I am willing to post this as proof of our meeting in NYC. It was really such a delight to meet her in person! Mike and Steve hit it off and chatted a few minutes and now we just have to find an excuse to travel to Houston and have time for more than a couple pictures of eachother! Great to meet you Shelly!!!!
BTW - Credit to my Steve for capturing these smiles!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 353 (part a) 12/08/08 A small view of some of the magnificent art lining the base of the Rotunda of The Capitol building in Washington D.C. Absolutely a breath taking experience to tour The Capitol. I had no idea!!!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 490 4/21/09 Another shot from Sunday

I have posted a whole gallery of the shots I took, then edited from the spontaneous photo shoot at a local park of this young couple. I really want some feedback, if you have time on what I did. I think I put in too many photos, in my haste to get them up...not enough time to sort them, but any critique you can give will be appreciated.
Ashleigh and Andrew

I apologize that I was not able to make comments at all yesterday. I am hoping tonight will be different. no time last night!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 360 12/16/08 Most of you know that I don't do much post processing other than a little crop, sharpen, or straighten. I depend on Picasa for a quick edit and that's about it. Well the upgrade to Picasa lets me put in some text now....sooooo, wishing you all the very best. I know a picture is worth a thousand words, but 8 more says it more directly! This was taken at the lake near my work where I have taken pics of ducks and trees. I set the camera on a bench propped at the right angle on its strap and used the self-timer with Aperature priority. I was pretty pleased with this for a night shot!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 267 10/20/08 A tourist in my own town.

Steve, Sam and I walked around in Philly for awhile yesterday before seeing a film in Philly ('Rachel Getting Married', very good) This was taken on South Street in Philly. Just don't think I had ever really 'seen' it before. Have a good day!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 241 9/2/08 Nuestra amiga Lucia!

We have known this little girl since before she was born...4 years ago. We had a great afternoon with her and her family and other friends of ours in a distant suburb of Buenos Aires. I had a great opportunity to take lots of shots of the children, children with parents and grandparents and our group together. Actually the group shot with me and Steve that you will eventually be able to see was set up by me, but a young woman near us was kind enough to take the pictures. I hadn't brought my tripod with me...( Shame I forgot that I still had that darned new polarizing filter on and couldn't figure out why I was having to boost the ISO so much..I always forget something!!!)

We are really enjoying ourselves as many of you have commented on...I do apologize that I am not taking any time to comment. I just know if I get started, it will be hard to stop so I will have to wait until I get home. I will say that I have glanced at some of the pics each day and you all are the best..so creative and skilled. Your photography has been great inspiration to me and motivation to do better. Thanks for your continued comments and time to look at my photos even though I am not giving back! Besos!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 440 3/1/09 A quick street shot in Philly.

We went into Philly yesterday to see a movie. Steve stopped for me to take a few quick shots of this street scene we pass every time we drive in. Nothin' special, just somethin' .

A question...Do my photos seem too saturated with color lately? Because of issues with my Internet connection with my laptop recently I have done some posting from a desk top that is wired access, but the monitor is much more vibrant than my laptop and I don't know how to adjust it. I didn't want to desaturate from here as it might make the pics to blah...Just curious for the feedback. That would include the portraits of Steve, too.

Thanks all for your good wishes on the weight loss. I had achieved Lifetime with WW about 8 years ago and slowly gained it all back. I wasn't in the mindset to lose weight for a long time and right now I am clearly on track..Being busy on the computer sure helps nighttime snacking!!! Thanks for your support..that was very nice to see!!! :)

Our forecast is for 8-14 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow. We haven't had more than about 2 at the most all winter and only a couple of times at that...Why does this happen after 60 degree days and starting to see spring flower shots? Oh well...should be interesting.
