A PHOTOGRAPHER FRIEND

Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 214 - 7/21/08 A bird on land is easier to catch than a bird in flight...but, it still doesn't guarantee a a terrific detailed shot. Overall, I am feeling very disappointed with my Florida shots. I don't know what it was, I had the ISO too low on many shots, they were not crisp and sharp like I thought they would be and the haze, I guess I need some sort of special filter to help..I am just not feeling that good about ths pictures. I didn't even stay up last night to work on them. Usually I am so excited to sort them I can't even go to sleep. Oh well...maybe tonight.

This was a little test for me...The pp of selective coloring in Picasa is not as precise, but it was a fun thing to try on this sweet dog. She is another regular at the park where we walk. She loved to pose. I made a gallery for her in the Pets section, too!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 190 - 6/23/08 Boardwalk Eats..Ocean City, New Jersey

Steve and I had a fun afternoon walking this boardwalk, then meeting some friends and hanging out over coffee and then some dinner. Nice living so close to all these Atlantic coastal towns!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 201 7/5/08 - The JOY of Photography....Yes, it's that good!

This is a pic from the Central Park concert we went to last weekend. I am posting it for yesterday since I worked on processing the gallery to SmugMug ( among other things yesterday) and didn't take time last night to post this. This woman was beautiful and had the most animated face I had ever seen. She was taking pictures of her friend and just made all kinds of smiles and expressions while taking the pictures I had to take pictures of her...

If you want to see more...you can wade through my Summer Stage in Central Park to see them!

Thanks in advance if you do. I would love to know if you do, of course. It was mixed weather that day, mostly heavy thundershowers, so it was hard to tame the motion of the crowd and musicians, but I am pretty content with what I have...Probably should have whittled it down more and maybe in time I will. Thanks again!

Well, today I will start processing the wedding photos... This was taken before the ceremony. We were early enough to be out where the photographers were taking the official portraits before the ceremony... I didn't see them catch this shot, though! More to come.....
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 220 7/29/08 Across the road from the park where we walk. Funny how once again, something I pass almost every day, I noticed for the first time today. A change from the pups and flowers! I wish it had been a little sharper, but this was 800 ISO and taken with the zoom, and then cropped quite a bit, as well.

Just in case you were wondering, here is a gallery of a new pup, Chase, that I took last night, too!!!

Hillary Yasmer Shemin > December 23rd - Today we invited Steve's 90 year old mother to join us to see a movie in Center City Philadelphia. As we walked to the car she had her umbrella up and... aha... photo-op... Now you can see where my husband gets his good looks! Actually, he looks just like his Dad...but we are hoping he has her good genes!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 206 7/11/08 Thanks Hershy...here's the crop you suggested. Anyone know what kind of flowers these are???? Off to work...Have a good day!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post199 - 7/3/08 Enjoy the 4th of July and be safe!!!

Steve and I turned onto a little street in Center City Philadelphia to head over toward an access road we often take into the city. I suddenly saw that some old buildings had been demolished and they revealed a wall that usually we can only barely see as we speed by up on I-95...Now that wall, with its amazing flag mural, was in full view...Isn't that incredible that it is painted and not a real flag? Steve pulled over so I could get out and get a shot of it...we both knew this was my potd!!!

Have a safe 4th everyone!
4/9/08 - Thanks Dad!
